Message: July 1, 08 Thanks so much for your emails and for giving me a call. June was a particularly hectic month for me and, through a series of technical difficulties, I was not connected to my emal for almost four weeks. (Not an entirely bad thing.) I would not have been able to attend in June anyway but do plan on coming for the 50th anniversary. (Do you realize that the people who were celebrating their 50th anniversary from high school graduation when we graduated in 1961 would have been in the class of 1911?!!)

Message: July 1, 08 I have posted new information from Larry L, and Chuck B check it out. I have also updated the Memorial section of the website. Our class reunion was held on Saturday, June 21. Twenty classmates and thirteen guests attended. Stories of the past were retold, and stories of families were shared. There was plenty of food served by the committee, and I do mean plenty. Some trivia from classmates were yearbooks, senior cords, copies of newspaper clippings, video of our 25th reunion was shown on the TV, music from our time brought back memories, and aerial views of OLD Westfield. We plan on having annual reunions from now on. As someone said it is about time. I suggested that we should have a two day reunion for our fiftieth year. A two day reunion would really give us time to get to know each other again. Miltom W lives in South America and is planning on being here for it. Everyone should start planning now to attend it. The alumni banquet at the school is usually held the first weekend in May. So mark that weekend in 2011 to be in Westfield, Indiana. I do not know when next years reunion will be, but I'm sure we will let you know. Wanta see some of the picture taken at the reunion, click on the Class Pictures section of the website. Westfield High School Alumni Our 50th year Reunion should be May 7, 2011, mark your calendars Got any suggestions for next year, fiftieth year, email them to me. Also keep your webpage up to date. Class of 61 committee for 2009? Want us to add you, we will.

Message: July 1, 08 My thanks to all on the committee who put the class reunion together this year. It was a very enjoyable time. My only question is " how can we feel so young and yet look so old " ?? We have become our "grandparents". Thank goodness we had some fun along the way !!!

Message: Jan 1, 08 I finally found where Mary Alice lived. Upon arrival at her doorstep I found she had moved out of state. I got her Missouri address by the ringing doorbells of neighbors. I have written her, haven't received a reply. Thanks for the help Larry T. I'm still looking for Barbara Ann Robertson, any ideas?

Message: October 2, 07 It was nice seeing everyone from the Class of 1961 even though it was on a sad occasion. We had so many classmates at Jack's calling. The line was still out to the road when we left at 8:15 p.m. Let's get that reunion at the park or whatever started for next summer! I'll help!!!!

Message: August 1, 07 Max Pierce sent me some information you can catch it on his page. Also I have added some pictures to my page. Check them both out. I have found that the Mary Alice W. that lives on the SE side of Indianapolis is NOT the Mary Alice in our class.

Message: July 1, 07 Well I have some new news. I talked to Pete K on his birthday. Pete has not filled out the information form yet.
I 'm still searching for Ann R, Phil S and Mary Alice W. One of our classmates thought Ann had passed away in 1970. What I did find was, that a Barbara R passed away in 1970. However she was born in 1925. I don't believe our Ann was that old. :-) If someone happens to be going to the Southeast side of Indianapolis I would appreciate you checking to see if I have located the address for Mary Alice. The Mary W. I have found has no listed phone. If you should be going near 465 and Southeastern Avenue let me know. I'll see you have the address. I may have found some information on Phil S. I plan on checking it out in the near future. Some of you still haven't filled out the form. Some of us, wish you would.

Message: May 1, 07 I don't see a date for a get-together for the Class of 1961 yet????? I'm going to be attending my sister, Nancy's, reunion June 16th at her house in Hagerstown. That class of 1960 gets together every 5 years and this is just a mini reunion because they just had a big one 2 years ago. They get excited about seeing each other and have classmates who are willing to get things going. If we can't get a large reunion together, it would be nice to have a smaller gathering maybe at a park somewhere. If I lived closer, I would certainly be glad to help get something started but I'm too far away. It was a large undertaking on our 25th class reunion but I think we all enjoyed it a lot. I know it is a lot of work for anyone and it really takes several people to put something like this together. My husband loves BBQ so maybe we'll try it sometime. Thanks!

Message: May 01, 07 Thought I would pass this on from Vicky. Westfield has a new BBQ restaurant in front of the Antique Mall on 32 at the bottom of the hill before you head into town...used to be "Cool Creek Coffee Shop". He is one of our friends and his name is Adam Hoffman. His food, as long as you like BBQ, is delicious! They have a nice menu to pick from and you can either dine in or carry out...:-)

After all the gifts are bought and the cards sent out, we have to remember the real reason we celebrate...JESUS!!!!

Message: November 1, 06 The Back Road Girls just got back from The Horse Park in Lexington, Ky last weekend so Lana, our inhouse photographer, will be sending some pictures your way soon I hope! We had a lot of fun and always, always get lost at some point probably because we're on the "back roads"! Ha! Wish we could plan another get-together in the Spring. We're all getting older and need to catch up on what everyone is doing.
My husband and I are leaving for a trip to Hawaii Dec. 4th to Dec. 10th. Have never been there so it my life long dream to see this beautiful state. If I have some good pictures, will send them your way!

Message: August 1, 06 For those of you having trouble with the password. I recently visited one of our classmates that was having trouble. I found the AOL popup blocker was the problem. We set the blocker to accept popups from homeshamiltoncounty.com, seems to work fine now.
Jack B visited with Frank Gourdouze during spring break. Jack said that Frank is very alert and trim. In case your interested Coach Gourdouze can be reach at.: 4315 36 Ave E, TUSCALOOSA, AL 35405 205-553-8273 PH# 205-553-8273
Well it has been over a year since most of you have sent me updates for your web page. How about some new updates i.e.: family pictures, latest picture of you, what is new in your life, just about anything that might be of interest to fellow classmates.
Donna C. and Jim R. don't have Email. So once a year I snail mail them the latest updates. Jim wrote back this week and said Thanks Ron for the note and pictures. "We don't have any (pictures) but will work on them and then try to fix them to make us 30 again."
I added another classmate this month. This person sang Donna at a sock hop held in the Westfield Gym (that is if I remember correctly).

Message: July 3, 06 Just wanted to let you know that Janet (D) A, Lana (D) W, Christy (L) R, Judy D (Lana's sister-in-law) and myself have formed a "Red Hat Club" and are going on a train ride to Chicago the 22nd of July. We've added 4 other ladies (one is Lana's sister, Judy) and 3 other friends of our group. We'll have to let you know how things go on our first "Big Outing" and maybe you can pass this information along to other classmates. Perhaps someone else will want to join our group. "Ladies Only"!!! We're known as "The Backroad Girls"!!!! Is is so wonderful to keep in close contact with the girls from the Class of 1961. Just thought you might find this interesting.

Message: June 1, 06 How's this for deja vu ?? 45 years after our senior trip Mary and I are finally going back to Washington DC as tourists - along with our 14 year old grandson. I was there on business several times in the 90s but never took time to look around again. I think I will skip reliving the hotel experience in Pittsburgh since we will be in our RV.

Message: May 19, 06 We are relandscaping the front lawn, planting new flowers in pots, redecorating inside the house...results outside and in have been very pleasing, but still have a ways to go.

The hail storm yesterday decorated the side of our house and our lawn with new leaves off the tree, so that was interesting to see hail that looked like it had snowed and stayed around a while here in May!!!

We have been having Bible Study 2 times a month, but will be stopping for the Summer and enjoying time with family and friends. :-)

I always enjoy hearing from you!

Message: Oct. 02, 05 I had a very surprising loooooonnngggg distance phone call Sunday September 4. It was about 1/2 hour in length. We talked about numerous things. What different class mates were doing, where they were, about their families, the old Westfield vs the new. He said he would try to call each one of us as time goes. That was the reason for the call, he didn't remember the password to get phone numbers. I asked him to let me know when he was going to be back in town and maybe some of us could get together, he said he would. Milton Whittaker also said he wanted to make the 50 year reunion.

Message: March 02, 05 Christy, Lana, Janet and me were susposed to get together last Sat. but two of us had conflicts and had to cancel. It is very hard to be this far away and see each other but we still keep trying. There are still a lot of people who haven't joined the Website and sure would be nice if they did. I have trully enjoyed reading about all our classmates and have been surprised at how some of them turned out. Wish everyone felt the same way but this is probably why we've only had one BIG reunion in our class.

Message : I was just thinking back about 44 years ago, and remembering or fantasizing (at my age) about a few things. Many of us went by bus on our senior trip. Lot of memories I don't believe I need to give any details.

Our first night out in Pittsburgh, several guys took in a show. Jack helped a man to his feet. Gettysburg Battleground Hershey Company, who dropped a penny in the chocolate? Washington DC: The tour of the White House, Washington Monument

New York: The subway to Coney Island, Radio City Music Hall, UN Building, Ellis Island, Empire State Building, some of us took in Yankee Stadium instead of going to Chinatown, some of us went to Jack Dempseys bar.

Remember the bus trip and the day Chuck had a special seat.
